We all have moles and some people have lots. They can change for a number of reasons including age, pregnancy or sun exposure. Is important to keep an eye on our moles and get them checked if they change size, shape or colour, or if they have been itchy or bleeding. Risks of Melanoma include family history of Melanoma, fair skin with freckles, blue/green eyes or have had excessive sun exposure.
Dr Memon can check individual lesions if there is a concern or carry out whole body examination. In some patients we do take photographs of the lesions for future comparison. He uses dermoscope to examine the moles, it is a device that offers better magnification and as a result adds to a better diagnosis.
